Do you think New Orleans will ever get as popular as Branson, MO or Las Vegas, NV?
Pre-Katrina, New Orleans got 12 to 14 million tourists per year. Now (4+ years after Katrina) it's back up to almost 10 million per year. The attention New Orleans received this year due the the Saints going to the Superbowl should push the number closer to the pre-Katrina mark.
Branson gets about 8 million tourists per year, which is indeed an incredible number for a small town.
Las Vegas gets about 30 million visitors per year.
Note that most visitors to New Orleans and Branson do not return the same year. LV gets many visitors who drive over from California multiple times per year so does count people more than once.
