God and The Who Dat Nation

The city has gone wild with the Saints in the Superbowl..Somone sent this to me today and I thought it was so funny that I would share it with you.

Peyton Manning, after living a full life, died and went to heaven. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Colts flag in the window..

"This house is yours for eternity, Peyton," said God. "This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here."

Peyton felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner.

It was a 3-story mansion with a black and gold sidewalk, a 50-foot tall flagpole with an enormous Saints logo flag, and in every window, a New Orleans Saints towel.

Peyton looked at God and said "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I hold many NFL records, and I even went to the Hall of Fame."

God said "So what's your point, Peyton?"
"Well, why does Drew Brees get a better house than me?"

God chuckled and said "Peyton, that's not Drew's house, it's mine."

Ragin' Daisy and The Absinthe Green Fairy

It's Mardi Gras time in New Orleans and I need a new costume that makes me look glamorous without showing too much skin. I am not 25 anymore, but I'm not 90 either. There is only one place for me to go and that is Ragin Daisy.

Ragin Daisy is owned by my friend Pat and her sister. Pat is the most lovable person you will ever want to meet. As I set off for the store in the pouring down rain. It's not just raining.... it's raining like the rain thinks its' Katrina's Sister.

I arrive wet, kinda looking like a large drowned muskrat...yet, once inside the store...I forget about being wet and focus in on all the choices of attire that I can pick from for my costume.

Pat suggests that I go as the Absinthe Green Fairy. I was clueless about the decadence associated with Absinthe until I got home and googled it

Oh baby, Oh baby....Who knew
And I'm going as it's Fairy Representative. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it and it might as well be me.

Legend has it that if you drink enough of the alcohol made from the wormwood plant and anise called Absinthe you will see the Green Fairy.

Ok then, I'm game. So along with the strapless green crinoline (too too) dress, I buy some sexy fishnet hose and a head band with a green sparkly on it for my hair.

I can't even remember the last time that I wore fishnet hose, but I do remember how much fun I had when I wore them. That, my friends is another story that I will not share with you

I can hardly wait to be nasty in a nice sort of way.

But that's not all that you will find in the store.

This store is full of kitch and glamour, rhinestones that make our inner Glam Girl sing. They have more than just clothes. They have all kinds of decorative stuff, jewelry, funky sunglasses.....I mean if it's cool it's there.

And if you can't decide.....just ask Pat to help you find the perfect whatever to add to your wardrobe.

Ragin Daisy is located at 901 Chartres Street and is open Monday-Sunday 12-6. Phone 504-544-5482

Who Dat Nation Rally on Friday

Our City has gone to the Who Dat Nation and to celebrate, this Friday morning Good Morning America is joining us to celebrate this passage with a huge party in front of St Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square.

Thats right, Good Morning America is coming all the way from New York City to broadcast their show live and we need to pack the square with the Who Dat Nation wearing Saints finery to send a message to the entire universe that New Orleans is behind the Saints.

Tell all your friends to come and join the party. Shoot... its not like we get to go to the Super Bowl every season. We are Super Bowl virgins. And isn't it fitting that we will be in front of St Louis Cathedral.

Let the Party Begin!
