It Rains and Everyone Still Strolls

It rains, and everyone still strolls on Royal Street during The Royal Street Stroll. What is a little water and high humidy? That is the secret to all of us New Orleanians looking so young.
The wonderful thing about the Royal Street Stroll is that you can be anything you want for a short period of time. Never got to be a cheerleader in high school? Or the god of wine, Bacchus? There is something freeing about wearing a toga in public and throwing beads to beautiful women. Want to be the Grape Lady? This is your chance to experience all your archetypes in public and not get arrested. The above picture is my friend Laurie with her daughter Melina arriving for The Stroll.

You can set up camp in the middle of the street.

And enjoy life!

You see all kinds of outfits during Royal Street Stroll, and don't even think about bringing a boring purse. I love this purse...

Here is my friend Wendy, posing for the camera. Not an inch of fat on her.

It did rain alitte during the Stroll, but what could be more glamorous than these ponchos compliments of The Wine and Food Experience.
